Moshe Landau, the 90-year-old hero of this story, was one of the three judges, the president to the bench in the Eichmann's trial. He was born and grown up in Gdansk. His father, Isaac Landau, was a very important person in the Jewish community of the Free City of Gdansk before the 2nd World War: a doctor, journalist, editor in chief of Das Judische Volk, devoted Zionist, chairman of the sport association Bar Kochba. Emigrated from Gdansk in 1933, settled in Palestine. Moshe Landau went then to England for legal studies, then came back to Palestine, became the judge of the Supreme Court. Presently lives in Jerusalem. |
